MEET THE COACHES

Stian Owens

Stian grew up in Midlothian, Virginia and played house league in the area until playing U18 AAA. From there he went on to play juniors and eventually landed at the Milwaukee School of Engineering playing over 100 games at the NCAA Division 3 level, serving as the assistant captain in his final year. After graduating, Stian continues to follow his passion in hockey. He previously worked as a AAA coach with the Milwaukee Jr. Admirals and now works as a skills coach in the Richmond Area. His goal is to continue working with hockey players to help them pursue their dreams of playing at the highest levels.

Justin Owens

Justin grew up in Midlothian, Virginia and played hockey locally until age 15. He is a graduate of Virginia Tech and has since reignited his passion for the game through coaching and player development. Justin has been coaching for four years and currently serves as the Hockey Director for Richmond Hockey Club. He is also a NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). His commitment to player development led him to help start Line 1 Hockey, where he continues to focus on helping athletes reach their potential. Like his players, Justin strives to reach the highest levels of the game, but as a coach.

Stefan Owens

Stefan grew up in Midlothian, Virginia and played house league and travel in the area until he was able to reach the junior level. After playing 3 seasons with the Richmond Generals in the USPHL, he moved up to play with the Maine Nordiques in the NAHL. Following his tenure in Maine, Stefan was able to commit to UMass Lowell, where he played all 4 years until he graduated in 2025. Stefan hopes to inspire the next generation of hockey players and use his experience to teach what it takes to make it to the next level.
